In Shop
Most of the repairs and upgrades we do to computers require them to come into our shop, where we have the proper tools and work areas to perform the work safely and correctly. The ability to work on one computer while we wait on another also allows us to save you money and offer flat rates for many common services. Here are a few examples of the kinds of things we do in-shop:
Cleanup
Whether you are using a Mac or a Windows computer, and even if you are really careful, it’s easy to end up with junkware on your computer. We can run scans and remove problematic software manually to get your computer back up to speed, as well as get you set up with tools to help keep your computer clean in the future.
Hardware Repair
Anything man made can break, and computers are no exception. We can take care of most common hardware failures such as:
- deffective hard drives and solid state storage
- failed memory modules
- blown power supplies
- broken laptop charging ports
- some laptop LCD screens and keyboards
- and more!
Upgrades
If your computer is not performing the way you need it to, let us have a look at it before you buy a new one! We may be able to upgrade your current PC and save you money!
New PC Setups
Setting up a brand new PC can be a real hassle. One of our most requested services is setting up a new PC. Just bring us your old computer and your new computer (preferably still in the box, unopened) and we can save you tons of time and frustration. Here’s what we can do for you:
- Bypass setup steps that try to force you to create online accounts you don’t want
- Remove preloaded junkware and bloatware
- Copy data from your old computer
- Reinstall software such as Office, Quicken, Quickbooks, etc. (you must provide the installation sources)
- Install commonly needed tools like web browsers, pdf readers, etc.
- Remote assistance to help you install your printer once you get your new computer home
On Site
We offer onsite service for certain kinds of problems and setups including:
- Networking
- Troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Set up and maintain windows file sharing
- Set up wifi
- Set up or replace routers, switches, etc.
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Active Directory servers
- Configure local or online backups
- Printer setup and configuration
- Set up and connect PC to peripherals
Remote Assistance
There are certain problems that we can solve via remote assistance, which saves you money and prevents you from having to bring your computer into the shop. If you can browse to a website, download a file and run it, then you have the skills needed to help us remote into your computer and take care of the problem.
